Hampton Court Palace - Near to Heathrow Hotel

Hampton Court Palace is a royal palace in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames in south west London. It was originally built for Cardinal Wolsey, a favourite of King Henry VII in 1529. As Wolsey fell from favour, the Palace was passed on to the King who then enlarged it with a grand re-building and expansion project that was intended to rival the Palace of Versailles.

The vast grounds, rich history, impressive Tudor and Baroque architecture, and ongoing exhibitions make the Palace a site worth visiting on any trip to London for all the ages.

There are undoubtedly more than a handful of sights to see at the Palace. The top 10 things that they have personally listed out to see are:

  • Henry VIII's Great Hall
  • Young Henry VII Exhibition
  • The world famous Maze
  • Tudor kitchens and live Tudor cookery
  • Beautiful gardens
  • A living Tudor world
  • Family fun activites
  • Kids' ghost trail
  • The Chapel Royal
  • Tiltyard Cafe
